Studies conducted in Finland shows that vitamin D is one of its properties to be a good ally of the organism in regard to developing Parkinson’s. Everyone knows that this type of vitamin plays a key role in bone health and prevention of diseases such as cancer, diabetes type 2 and type multiple heart disease.
Today it has come to the conclusion that those who have high levels of vitamin have lower odds of developing Parkinson, as indicating Finnish researchers from the National Institute for Health and Welfare of Helsinki, who published their work in the Archives of Neurology.
Experts say that eating an adequate amount of vitamin D daily can be critical to prevent the development of Parkinson’s, since this disease usually occurs often in people who do not consume adequate amounts of these vitamins, leading to chronic loss dopaminergic neurons of the brain.
The study was carried out by a group of scientists to research the National Institute for Health and Welfare of Helsinki, Paul Knekt, to the head. To conduct the research, analyzed to 3173 persons of both sexes aged between 50 and 80 years who did not have Parkinson from the years 1978 to 1980, when studies began.
These people were subjected to various blood tests to determine your daily intake of vitamin D, as well as detailed surveys where their health habits and both social and economic aspects of his life. After 29 years of analysis, 50 of those people developed Parkinson’s.
For these results and research carried out, the experts could conclude that those who consumed more vitamin D and performing physical activity show lower risk of developing the disease.
