Chronic migraine headaches can cause severe pain for several hours or last for days. Some patients have warning signals of an impending migraine, such as seeing auras or flashes of light or having a tingling sensation in the arms or legs.
In addition to the pounding in the head, migraine sufferers may experience other symptoms, such as nausea, vomiting and a heightened sensitivity to sound and light.
Though no cure is available for migraine headaches, Mayo Clinic doctors report that there are a number of physical and environmental causes that can be mitigated through lifestyle changes.

Imbalances
1. Doctors at the Mayo Clinic have found that serotonin levels drop when a migraine headache appears, which causes neuropeptides to be released and create pain. Estrogen fluctuations can trigger migraines in many women. The imbalance of hormones causes the severe headaches as women go through menopause and during menstrual cycles. Other women experience migraines while going through a pregnancy.
Diet
2. Certain foods commonly cause migraines to appear, indicating a sensitivity or allergy in some people. Alcohol, especially beer and red wine, are common triggers reported by migraine sufferers. While skipping meals for some people can cause a migraine to appear, others become ill after eating aged cheese, chocolate and food that contains monosodium glutamate (MSG). Caffeine triggers migraine headaches in two ways. Some people’s migraines start after they consume any food, drink or painkiller with caffeine in it. Others get migraines when their bodies do not get enough caffeine.
Function
1. According to the University of Berkeley, caffeine does not directly cause migraines. But does seem to set off chemical reactions in the brain that can result in migraines for some people born with a predilection for headaches.
Identification
2. The National Headache Foundation recommends that people with migraines make a diary to determine if caffeine is the cause. If people are cured by consuming caffeine, then they are getting rebound migraines.
Rebound
3. According to Migraines For Dummies (Diane Stafford and Jennifer Shoquist, MD; 2003), caffeine rebound migraines are when a person cuts back on caffeine and the body sends a migraine in order to make the person consume more caffeine. Read the rest of this entry »
Migraine headaches are characterized by throbbing pain, generally on one side of the head. The pain can be moderate to severe, and is often made worse by movement, light or sound. Typically only 15-20 percent of people actually experience the tell-tale auras before a migraine begins. For many individuals, migraines are triggered by certain foods. Migraine sufferers should avoid the following foods and food additives.

Beverages
Alcoholic beverages–especially red wine–caffeinated drinks such as coffee, tea and soda, and chocolate are all common migraine triggers. Although there is some debate over the exact cause of migraines, excessive caffeine consumption or withdrawal from caffeine seems to be a problem.
A little caffeine may actually help relieve symptoms of acute, or severe migraines. Doctors recommend keeping a food diary and recording any occurrences of migraines to see if there is a correlation. Instead of drinking coffee or soda, try fresh juices and, of course, plenty of water.
Dairy
Tyramine, found in some cheeses, can trigger migraine headaches. Additionally, dairy products in general can increase mucous production and worsen symptoms of chronic sinusitis, which can cause severe headaches in the front of the head and face.
These severe sinus headaches are sometimes categorized as migraines, although they are actually related to sinus infection. Avoid dairy, except in small amounts. Soy milk, tofu and soy-based cheeses, yogurt and even ice cream are excellent substitutions, and they are available in just about any supermarket. Read the rest of this entry »
Although the exact cause of the ailment remains unknown, triggers for the onset of a migraine headache partly have their roots in the nervous system. Migraines may be expressions of pent-up or unexpressed negative emotions, with rage topping the list of emotional culprits.

Bloated With Rage
Migraines have excruciating and debilitating physical effects, but they may also indicate that the sufferer has issues of chronic anger and resentment he is not consciously resolving. Environmental and physical issues are also at play, but not being able to express anger and resentment in a productive manner leaves a person feeling almost bloated with rage, triggering headaches in those who are prone to migraines. Hypothyroidism is simply a matter of too little hormones flowing from the thyroid gland. In reality though it’s no simple matter. This critical hormone level regulates everything from your energy level to your mood in general. Basic aches and pains that many people shrug off as being signs of aging are in truth results of a low hormone level from an underactive thyroid.
In fact if you could attribute all the things we accept as being natural aging and properly sourced them to the thyroid and provided treatment, aging might not be the traumatic experience it has become in today’s world. If you have started a weight loss program and saw success for a week or two and then without changing a thing about your diet routine your slow but steady weight loss stopped it could very well be blamed on your metabolism.
An underactive thyroid can cause any number of malady’s to surface and send you running to the doctor for a cure. If the ache is due to a muscle pull or your tiredness is due to the fact that you’ve been working 60 hour weeks for two months due to an increase workload at the office then don’t look for a thyroid problem to treat.
But if you tired and you work a normal pace at a job you’ve been doing for some time without complaint and you’re now always tired and aching and irritable and cranky and lately constipation has added itself to the reasons you feel like ye-ch then maybe it is your thyroid.
Once detected (diagnosed) for cervical cancer, will become more tests to determine if cancer cells have spread to other parts of the body. This process is called staging. The doctor needs to know the stage of the disease to plan treatment. The following stages are used in the classification of cervical cancer:

- Stage 0 or carcinoma in situ: Carcinoma in situ is a cancer in its early stages. Abnormal cells are found only in the first layer of cells lining the cervix and do not invade deeper tissues of the cervix.
- Stage I: Cancer involves the cervix but has not spread to the surrounding
* Stage IA: a very small amount of cancer that is only visible through a microscope is found in the deeper tissue of the cervix.
* Stage IB: a larger amount of cancer found in the tissue of the cervix.
- Stage II: Cancer has spread to nearby regions, but is still in the pelvic region
* Stage IIA: Cancer has spread beyond the cervix to the upper two thirds of the vagina.
* Stage IIB: Cancer has spread to tissue surrounding the cervix. Read the rest of this entry »
Cervical cancer, a common type of cancer in women, is a disease in which cells are cancerous (malignant) in the tissues of the cervix. The cervix is the opening of the uterus, the body pear-shaped hollow where the fetus develops, and connects with the vagina (birth canal).

Cervical cancer usually grows slowly over a period of time. Before they find cancer cells in the cervix and other tissues undergo changes and abnormal cells begin to appear (known as dysplasia).
The Pap test usually find these cells. Later, cancer cells start to grow and spread more deeply into the cervix and surrounding areas.
Since there is generally no symptoms associated with cervical cancer, the doctor must make a series of tests to find cancer.
The first is the Pap test, carried out using a piece of cotton, a brush or a small wooden spatula to gently scrape the outside of the cervix to collect cells. The patient may feel some pressure, but usually do not feel pain.
If cells are abnormal, your doctor will remove a tissue sample (this procedure is known biopsy) of the cervix and observe under a microscope to check for cancer cells.
To perform a biopsy only need a small amount of tissue and can be done in the doctor’s office. Whether to do a biopsy, a doctor needs to remove a larger sample in the form of cone (cone), the patient may have to go to hospital.
The prognosis (chance of recovery) and choice of treatment depend on the stage of the cancer (whether it is in the cervix or has spread to other places) and the overall health status of the patient.

With the arrival of spring also get that annoying allergic rhinitis or hay fever, which affects millions of people around the world.
74 percent of those affected has discomfort in the nose and watery eyes that are usually treated with antihistamines and other medicines that leave the dry nose to the end and give a lot of sleep. That’s why alternative treatments have emerged that can be as effective, without side effects.
Sublingual Immunotherapy: Sometimes the best cure is that which affects us. That is the concept of these drops are placed under the tongue and are extracts from plants that are allergic. In six weeks, this therapy may decrease the amount of traditional medicines that need up to 42 percent. These drops are taken daily for a period of 3-5 years and as you yourself take them there is no need to go to both the doctor.
Try Nettle: Nettle contains histamine, the chemical that your body produces during an allergic reaction, which helps us to be tolerant. Take two capsules every 3 or 4 hours during the allergy season. Read the rest of this entry »
